Driving Instructor Certification Requirements
Must be 21 or older
Hold a valid driver’s license for 2+ years
Maintain a clean driving record
No criminal history (fingerprint check required by SOS)
Complete 48‑hour instructor training approved by Illinois Secretary of State
Pass written exam and driving skills test
