Permit Prep Class + Road Test Warm-Up + Road TestOur Permit Prep Courses are available in Naperville in English and Spanish, and are offered in person or online. They all teach road rules and signs, boosting exam success in a comfortable classroom setting. For personalized needs, our Oral Permit Preparation Course offers one-on-one instruction with a live instructor, tailored for diverse learning needs, including reading difficulties and hearing impairments, also available in English and Spanish.

Students enrolling in any of these packages must have a learner’s permit and submit proof that they have successfully completed a Driver’s Education class, either in high school or at a private driving school.
Designed for drivers who want to build confidence with their driving skills and get extra support along the way. This course includes extra practice for your permit test and assistance with scheduling your appointment with the Secretary of State. You can even use one of our vehicles for your road test. With all these supports, you will be ready to pass your exam and road test and be on your way to a safe, licensed driver!

Complete Packages Option
Drivers Ed for Teens in Chicagoland is offered through MyDrive Academy four day program, combining classroom instruction with behind the wheel lessons in full assent with Illinois requirements. Students follow flexible schedules, complete all coursework and may take the permit exam after their fourth day of class. Approved by the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP). This training provides teens with the knowledge, skills and certification needed to earn their drivers license and begin driving with confidence.

Road Test at MyDrive Academy
Teen Road Test
We offer the teen road test at our offices for students under 18 who hold a valid permit and have achieved a minimum score of 80% in drivers ed for teens classroom training. This official testing option enables teens to complete their road exam and then proceed to the DMV for license issuance. Appointments must be scheduled at least three days in advance and students are required to meet all eligibility criteria before booking.
- Parent must sign the State-Required Release Form.
- Student must have received a grade of A or B in Driver’s Education Classroom.
- Students are not eligible for this test if they:
- Turn 18, or
- Have a suspended, canceled, or revoked license, or
- Have failed their first DMV road test attempt.
In these cases, the test must be scheduled directly at the DMV, or - Have not held their permit for at least 9 months.
- Once an appointment has been made:
- Do your absolute best not to cancel, as this may result in a “no show” mark on your driving record.
- Appointments are entered in both the State Platform and our internal booking system.
- Students must show up at the time booked with us (ignore any SOS confirmation email showing a different time).
- There is a 9.6% chance (3 out of 31) of being selected for a random re-test for quality control by the SOS.
- Students must still go to the DMV to take their license picture.
- Students must bring their original Illinois Instruction Permit.
- Driving lesson cancellations with least than 24 hours in advance will be subject to a cancellation fee of $60.
- Scheduling must be made at least 3 days in advance from the date of the call.
- Road tests will not take place after dark.
- Tests are available only at our offices in Naperville, Glenlake, 26th, and Worth.
*Tests cannot be conducted at any other location.
Students registering for these packages are required to hold a valid learners permit and provide documented proof of successful completion of a drivers education course, either through an accredited high school program or a certified private driving school.

My Drive Academy has partnered with MediCarSafety to provide NEMT (non-emergency medical training program) to agencies providing non-emergent transportation services. By successfully completing this course, each indiviudal will be issued a certificate that is valid for three (3) years. Our Medicar Safety Training Program consists of 2 days or 1 day of Webinar Training and 1 day of Onsite Driving Evaluation. You will receive your temporary Certificate once you successfully pass the Online Test and the Onsite Driving Evaluation. This certificate will allow you to work as a certified Non-Medicar Emergency Transport Driver. Your Official Certificate will be mailed to the mailing address that you indicated in the registration form within 7 to 10 business days.
