Our teen driving programs provide flexible options for new drivers to build confidence, knowledge, and safe driving habits. From classroom instruction to behind-the-wheel lessons and complete packages, we have programs tailored to every learning style and need.

Partner Program

Teen Classroom Course + 6 Hours Behind the Wheel (must register together)
Includes the state-mandatory classroom portion for all new teen drivers.
Partner required to register.
Includes 6 hours of behind the wheel training and 6 hours of partner observation.

Solo Program

Teen Classroom Course + 8 Hours Behind the Wheel

Includes the state-mandatory classroom portion for all new teen drivers.
Includes 8 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training.

Elite Program

Teen Classroom Course + 12 Hours Behind the Wheel
Complete state-required Driver's Ed class for teens + required in-car lessons
Includes preparation for the permit exam
Twelve hours of behind-the-wheel instruction

Students enrolling in any of these packages must have a learner’s permit and submit proof that they have successfully completed a Driver’s Education class, either in high school or at a private driving school.

Teen Road Test

My Drive Academy is pleased to offer the Teen Road Test at our offices, which allows teens (under 18) with a permit and completed Driver’s Education classroom score of 80% or higher to take the road test, then go to the DMV to get their picture taken for their license. All appointments must be scheduled at least 3 days in advance. In order to book this package, the student must meet the following requirements: 


Restrictions and Requirements for Students & Parents
  • Parent must be present to sign the State-Required Release Form.
  • Student must have received a grade of A or B in Driver’s Education Classroom.
  • Students are not eligible for this test if they:
    • Turn 18, or
    • Have a suspended, canceled, or revoked license, or
    • Have failed their first DMV road test attempt.
       In these cases, the test must be scheduled directly at the DMV.
  • Once an appointment has been made:
    • Do your absolute best not to cancel, as this may result in a “no show” mark on your driving record.
    • Appointments are entered in both the State Platform and our internal booking system.
    • Students must show up at the time booked with us (ignore any SOS confirmation email showing a different time).
  • Even if the student passes, there is still a 9.6% chance (3 out of 31) of being spot-checked for quality control by the SOS.
  • Students must still go to the DMV to take their license picture.
    • A random re-test may take place at this time.
  • Students must bring their original Illinois Instruction Permit.
  • Cancellations: A $60 fee applies for canceling an appointment.
  • Scheduling must be made at least 3 days in advance from the date of the call.
  • Tests are available only at our offices in Naperville, Glenlake, 26th, and Worth.

*Tests cannot be conducted at any other location.
